APC Warns Obanikoro Over Planned Mayhem In Lagos

Image
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has raised alarm over the inordinate use of soldiers to cause mayhem and outright brigandage in Lagos. It fingered the Minister of State for Defence, Musliu Obanikoro as the arrowhead of this illegal use of soldiers to cause a breach of public peace and launch mayhem in Lagos. In a release in Lagos, signed by the Interim Publicity Secretary of the APC in Lagos, Joe Igbokwe, the party says that the latest employment of soldiers to disrupt a state mass housing project in Lagos Island, coming barely a week after such similar perpetration of illegality in Ilubirin is signaling the  launching of a state of terror by the PDP federal government using Obanikoro as the arrowhead. It warns that Lagosians would be forced to resist such illegality and stop the bizarre development by all legal means at their disposal.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s aide, Mr. Agharese Idubor, on Wednesday led no fewer than 150 registered members of the APC in Benin to pitch their tents with the  PDP. Idubor is the Executive Director, Protocol Matters to the Governor. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defecting APC members are from Ward 7 in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo South Senatorial District. Idubor, who spoke on behalf of the defecting members, said their decision to return to the PDP was borne out of the alleged political betrayal of the leadership of APC in the state at the ward congress in the state on Tuesday. He argued that leadership positions should be attained through election and not by imposition “as was witnessed by APC members on Tuesday.’’ Idubor took a swipe at the leaders of the party in the state “whose roles in the just-concluded ward congress negated the principle of the one-man-one vote’’ policy of the party.

Ihedioha insisted that the process of sacking the governor from office was fully on course. The declaration was contained in a statement issued yesterday in Owerri by his media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu, following Ihedioha’s consultative visit to Okigwe Council Area of the state ahead of the 2015 governorship polls. Governor Okorocha had during the week, put a dent on Ihedioha’s governorship ambition, saying that the Deputy Speaker lacked the credentials and competence to succeed him in office. But Ihedioha appealed to loyalists of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okigwe Local Government Area of the state to remain steadfast in the party as “the process of reclaiming Imo and sacking Okorocha was fully on course and could not be altered.” Promising to do everything to make Imo the best state in the country, Ihedioha reminde
