Technical Committee Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, Felix Anyansi-Agwu has criticised Stephen Keshi for saying a new deal offered him by the football authority amounted to a “slave contract”. Keshi The 52 year old Keshi reportedly made the remarks after receiving his new contract following an eight month wait. A debate had raged in Nigeria over whether Keshi should be given a new deal, despite new offer to the NFF and stop embarrassing the country or his potential employers in the media. “The act of taking contractual matters to the media doesn’t show maturity and discipline from [Stephen] Keshi,” Anyansi-Agwu told BBC Sport.

Mali defeat South Africa 2-0 to win U-17 Championship

Mali have been crowned the 2015 African Under 17 Champions after a 2-0 victory over South Africa in the final in Niamey on Sunday. Second half Goals from Siaka Bagayoko and Aly Malle sealed Mali's victory. It is the first time in Mali's history that their Eaglets have won the youth competition. Previously, the closest they had come to winning the title was in 1997, finishing as runners-up to eventual winners Botswana.

The UN believes 12,000 children were used as child soldiers across South Sudan last year Hundreds of boys in South Sudan have been kidnapped and forced to become child soldiers, the United Nations children's agency says. The figure is a big increase on the 89 child abductions reported by Unicef last month.

Troops and militia were said to be attacking on different fronts, backed by airstrikes from Iraqi fighter jets. The government says that its forces are advancing into the city but this has not been confirmed.

A suspected female suicide bomber, who was targeting the ever-busy Muda Lawal market in Bauchi State metropolis, has been set ablaze by an irate mob. The mob were said to have carried out jungle justice on the lady after she refused to subject herself to a routine stop and search at the entrance of the market, fuelling suspicion that she was a member of Boko Haram, whose insurgency including use of suicide female bombers has resulted in the death of about 20,000 people including in Bauchi.
