Juventus Desperate For Jovetic

With Tevez set to leave in the summer of 2016, Juventus have set their sights on another Manchester City player, Stefan Jovetic as the Argentines replacement. Jovetic seems set to leave the Etihad stadium after Manuel Pellegrini left the Montenegro forward out of his UEFA champions league squad. Jovetic has struggled for form and playing time since arriving at Manchester City and injuries have hampered his progress at the club. Juventus are preparing a twenty million euro bid for the forward in the summer as they look to use his dynamism to complement their attack.

Spiderman Returns To Marvel As Deal Is Agreed With Sony

Marvel and Sony have agreed a deal to co-produce the next Spiderman movies. The new deal will see Spidey appear first in the Marvel Universe, most likely Captain America: Civil War, followed by a new Spiderman film in 2017. Marvel boss Kevin Feige and former Sony boss Amy Pascal will work together on decisions for the franchise, although Sony holds on to the character rights and has final creative control on its Spiderman output. No word has been mentioned if The Amazing Spiderman 2 lead, Andrew Garfield will be replaced. Welcome home, Spidey!

Efforts by the presidency to force the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega, to proceed on terminal leave by March 1 and thus prevent him from conducting the forthcoming general elections may have hit the rocks. A source in INEC told LEADERSHIP yesterday that the former university don and lecturers’ union boss would be in saddle to conduct the elections on the new dates of March 28 and April 11, this year.

Obasanjo: Nigeria must have new government on May 29

Obasanjo, who was speaking in Nairobi, said the constitution lays out how the new government should emerge. He stated that the federal government has no choice than to make sure elections hold as stipulated in the constitution.

US Sponsors Electoral Security Roundtable For Lagos

The United States government has sponsored an electoral security roundtable, mandating governorship candidates for Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to sign a peace pledge, promising to ensure they would not participate in pre or post election violence in Nigeria. According to the US Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, the US government sponsored peace signing accord between the two aspirants, as an additional effort to ensure there was no pre or post elections violence in Nigeria.

Boko Haram: Regional Alliance Will Come To Nothing – Shekau

Amass all your weapons and face us. We welcome you,” he said in a 28-minute speech on one of three videos released by the extremists on Sunday, according to Daily Trust. In the second of the latest videos, images of the leader of the Islamic State group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, are shown along with archive footage and a voiceover recalling a battle between British colonial soldiers and fighters from the Sokoto Caliphate in northern Nigeria.
