Rita Ora  has no  place to stay  after she was forced to leave her flat for making too much noise. The "R.I.P." singer revealed the news when she stopped by BBC Radio 1 on Thursday, January 30. According to the star, her neighbors could not stand noises coming from her place and asked her to leave. "Do you want to know something funny? I'm actually homeless right now. I had to leave my flat because the neighbors didn't like me that much. I'd been recording my album there, which is not a really good idea. Women rescued by Immigration officials from a ‘baby factory’ in Okitipupa, Ondo State ... on Wednesday | The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Services has raided a house allegedly used as a baby factory in Ilutitun, Okitipupa Local Government Area, arresting 24 persons. The suspects included a 66-year-old man, Mr. Aliu Ojo, who claimed to be a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police and the alleged leader of the factory, Mrs. Happiness Ogundeji (aka Mama Pota) aged 45. They were paraded on Wednesday at the state headquarters of the service. Five ladies at different stages of pregnancy and eight men, some claiming to be husbands of the women, were also brought to the headquarters. Reps reject bid to simplify impeachment of President

Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal Members of the House of Representatives on Thursday rejected a proposal to simplify the process of removing the President and Vice-President from office. The proposal was contained in a bill seeking to amend Section 143 of the 1999 Constitution by deleting it and replacing with an entirely new section 143. The bill, which was sponsored by a lawmaker from Bauchi State, Yakubu Dogara, sought to remove the “ambiguity” in the procedure for impeaching the two highest political office holders with a notice of impeachment initiated by the House of Representatives and terminating in the Senate. However, the amendment proposal failed to secure the mandatory two-third majority support as members voted on it and 18 other proposed amendment clauses on Thursday Out of the 297 lawmakers, who registered to vote on the amendment, 172, supported it, 122 opposed it, while three abstained.

T he  Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak has challenged the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, and the media community to focus on critical issues that will determine the agenda for the 2015 general elections rather than concentrate on bashing President Goodluck Jonathan and threatening mayhem, if the election results did not favour them. Gulak said the mass media was making itself a willing tool in the hands of the political opportunists in APC, whose stock in trade was to abuse the office and person of Mr. President because they had nothing to offer Nigeria. In a telephone interview in Lagos, yesterday, Gulak said: “I hold the media in highest esteem and I expect them to be guided by the ethics of their profession, to be fair to all sides.”

11 PDP senators defect to APC

The rank of the APC in the Senate swelled Wednesday with the defection of 11 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senators to the All Progressives Congress, APC. Among the senators that defected are Bukola Saraki, Mohammed Ndume, Danjuma Goje and Abdullahi Adamu. The senators communicated their decision to decamp to the APC in a letter addressed to the Senate President, David Mark. There are reports that some more senators could decamp in the coming weeks.

He declared his membership and loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He regretted that six months after its registration, APC leadership has refused to conduct elections into the national, state, local government and ward executives, adding that no single member of the party has been duly registered.

Bello and Olowu Gunmen on Monday night stormed Amodu Street, off Akala Street, Mushin, Lagos State, killing an eight-month pregnant woman, Musili Bello, and her 12-year-old daughter, Suliat Olowu. A commercial motorcycle rider, identified simply as Baba Monday, was also shot to death in the operation which was said to have lasted for about 20 minutes. Our correspondent, who visited the scene on Tuesday, observed that the thugs riddled several houses with bullets and also vandalised some vehicles. The slain woman’s father, Tajudeen Odusanwo, said his daughter was shot in the stomach and in the face, while his granddaughter was shot in the head.
