Governor Sullivan Chime has a solution for PDP

How to save PDP – Chime
He stated that the crisis bedeviling the party could be traced to the wanton disregard of the constitution in the past by the party’s leaders at the national level, but noted that the emergence of the new chairman offered the party a chance to redeem itself.

Chime said: “I believe that if we follow the constitution and play by the rules as enshrined there, we would be able to put the party in order and eliminate the opposition. People like the assurance that everyone will play by the rules and the fear that some people will not do so is what leads to crisis. I can assure you that if we follow the constitution of the PDP, it will continue to be the number one party in the country for the next 100 years.”
He attributed  the stability and continued success that the party enjoys in Enugu State to the conscious effort of party stakeholders to ensure that the constitution was followed strictly in all of its activities, adding, “we don’t joke with the party’s constitution, we don’t joke with democracy and we consult widely in Enugu State.”
The governor, who was accompanied by the leaders of the party in the state, said they were at the party headquarters to congratulate Alhaji Mu’azu on his appointment and commend him for the successes already recorded in the very short period he has been in office.  He reiterated the solidarity and support of Enugu people for President Goodluck Jonathan, saying that he should not bother campaigning in Enugu if and when he declares to re-contest the presidential elections.
In his response, Alhaji Mu’azu declared that the era of imposition of candidates from Abuja was over, stressing that everyone seeking elective positions in the party must be truly elected by his or her people.  “There will be no more impositions from Abuja under my watch, if you want anything from the party, then you must go back to your people and it what they decide that will stand”, he said.
Describing Governor Chime as a dynamic, committed and dedicated leader who has transformed the Enugu landscape, the PDP National Chairman said he would do whatever was necessary to reposition the party and restore its glory.      Among the dignitaries who accompanied Governor Chime, were Deputy Governor, Sunday Onyebuchi Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and all the members of the National Assembly from the state. others were the former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani, former National Chairman of the party, Dr Okwy Nwodo, Senator Jim Nwobodo as well as members of the state House of Assembly and the state executive of the party.
