Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy set to star first film in five years,“Mr Church’’

Murphy was ranked #10 on Comedy Central’s list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time. The Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy is set to star in his first film after a five-year break. The movie was directed by Bruce Beresford and also features Britt Robertson.
“Mr Church’’ tells the story of a unique friendship that develops when a little girl and her dying mother retain the services of a talented cook, Henry Joseph Church. What begins as a six month arrangement instead spans fifteen years, and creates a family bond that lasts forever. The film will be released later in the year. He has received Golden Globe Award nominations for his performances in “48 Hrs’’, the “Beverly Hills Cop series’’, Trading Places’’, and “The Nutty Professor’’. In 2007, he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of soul singer James “Thunder’’ Early in Dream girls. In some of his films, he played multiple roles in addition to his main character, intended as a tribute to one of his idols Peter Sellers, who played multiple roles in Dr Strangelove. Murphy has played multiple roles in “Coming to America’’, “Wes Craven’s Vampire in Brooklyn’’, the “Nutty Professor’’, “The Adventures of Pluto Nash’’, “Norbit’’, and “Meet Dave’’. As at 2014, films featuring Murphy had grossed over 3.8 billion dollars in the United States and Canada Box Office, and 6.6 billion dollars worldwide. In 2015, Murphy was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humour by the John F. Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts.
