The film, released on Monday, shows militants standing behind the two men who are on their knees, their hands tied behind their backs, with one man standing over them, holding a knife.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the real causes of the debilitating fuel scarcity across the country is the looting of the $12 billion domestic gas fund under President Goodluck Jonathan’s watch, as well as the Administration’s failure to pay fuel subsidy and the cost of interests on bank loans to oil marketers. The APC said the marketers are, therefore, finding it impossible for them to begin another round of importation of refined petroleum products.

Naira Gains Marginally on Dollar Sales by Oil Firms

The naira firmed by 1.13 per cent against the dollar on the interbank market in thin trade on Monday, supported by dollar flows from two energy companies, traders said. FMDQ data showed that the naira closed at N197.80 to the dollar, representing a 20 kobo appreciation, compared with the N198 to a dollar it closed last Friday on the interbank market.

Mourners gather in Moscow for Nemtsov funeral

Relatives and friends pay their respects as they stand close to the coffin of Boris Nemtsov during a farewell ceremony in Moscow on March 3 Mourners gathered in Moscow on Tuesday ahead of the funeral of Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, who was shot dead in the Russian capital last week. Nemstov, 55, was a former deputy prime minister and a longtime critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin. His funeral will be held in Moscow’s Troekurovskoye cemetery.

Permanent Voters’ Cards A Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed March 16 for hearing in a suit against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over missing the Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) in parts of Lagos State. The suit arose from allegations that PVCs of several registered voters were not produced, their data having been allegedly wiped off INEC’s database.

IMF to give Sierra Leone $80m to fight Ebola

Sierra Leone is expecting to receive more than $ 80m to help the country end the Ebola outbreak. The BBC reports that the IMF has pledged a $187m financial aid package for Sierra Leone to support the country’s ailing economy. Nearly 10,000 people have died in the outbreak, with the vast majority in Guiea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
