Manchester United offered Cristiano Ronaldo for £48m?

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer for less than £50m.

The 31-year-old's future at Real Madrid has been called into question this season, with some reports suggesting that he has already handed in a transfer request to force through a move.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Madrid are now prepared to let the striker depart the Bernabeu this summer as they plan a massive shakeup following a disappointing season in La Liga, where they sit seven points off leaders Barcelona with seven games remaining.

The newspaper claims that Ronaldo has been valued at €60m (£48.6m), with Manchester United in prime position ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, who are thought to be more keen on a deal for Barcelona's Neymar.

Ronaldo moved to Old Trafford as an 18-year-old in 2003 and was sold to the La Liga giants six years later for a then-world record fee of £80m.
