De Gea arrives in Madrid

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De gea, arrived in Madrid on Thursday, but claims he is only there “to have some rest”.

The Spain international is a target for Real Madrid and United are understood to have given up on keeping the player, who has one year left on his current deal.

He is however expected to attend the Red Devils’ first pre-season training on Monday.
As the 24-year-old touched down in Madrid, a fan was overheard saying: “we are waiting for you in Madrid”.

“I am fine,” De Gea told reporters at Madrid Barajas International Airport. “I have just come home to have some rest.”

The former Atletico Madrid player is refusing to sign a new €312,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.
