The Nigeria Football Federation moved to pacify the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Al Hassan Yakmut and solicited support for the unveiling of Sunday Oliseh as the new coach of the Super Eagles.
On Monday afternoon, the NFF general secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi met with Yakmut at the NSC secretariat at the Abuja National Stadium where they had a closed door meeting relating to the appointment and unveiling of the former national team captain.

Feelers from the NSC pointed to a truce while the Director General also gave some conditions the NFF needs to meet before the NSC could accept Oliseh as the new coach.

But the NFF Scribe kept mute on the outcome of the meeting while there was no official reaction to the visit by the National Spots Commission.

However, it was learnt that the unveiling of Oliseh would go according to plan while the federation would comply fully with NSC directives on the matter.

The NSC had queried the procedure used in hiring the new Super Eagles’ Chief Coach and his Belgian assistant claiming it needs to follow the Procurement Act.

Oliseh’s foreign assistant too needs the clearance of the Federal Government which ought to be done by the National Sports Commission.

It is hoped that both the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation would come out with a public pronouncement on the matter today to put it to rest.
