RIP Simba, Bojo Mujo and Prosper

The entertainment industry was rocked by the untimely death of three celebs this past weekend including Top Billing presenter Simba Mhere, music producer Bujo Mujo and businessman and music promoter Prosper Mkwaiwa.

Simba Mhere

Perhaps the biggest shocker of the weekend - Simba Mhere passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning after a car crashed into the car he was driving on Johannesburg’s William Nicol drive. Simba was on his way to the airport to travel to the J&B Met in Cape Town with his friend Kady-Shay O’Bryan, who was also killed in the crash. His father survived the crash and is said to be recovering at home. Simba’s memorial will be held this Thursday, 5 February at 3PM at Rhema in Randburg. His funeral will also be held at Rhema on Saturday, 7 February at 9AM. He will be laid to rest at Westpark.

Bojo Mujo

Musician Bojo Mujo passed away surrounded by family in Pretoria early on Saturday after a short illness. He’s best known for his hits “Summer Rain”, “Hlonolofatsa” and “Thando Lwami” to name a few. His manager, Sello Lehlake said: "Bojo Mujo’s first love was to make people dance. Although he is no longer with us, his music will live among his fans forever.” Bojo, whose real name is Jacky Lehlake, is survived by his son Koketso.

Proper Mkwaiwa

Kelly Khumalo’s ex-fiancé, Prosper Mkwaiwa, reportedly passed away on his way to hospital after he complained about feeling too hot on Sunday. He was in the company of his friends including Mshoza’s ex-husband, Jacob Mnisi, when he complained about the high fever. This comes after Prosper survived a near-fatal car accident last year. Prosper was traditionally married to Tina Dlangwana (they were in the process of undergoing a divorce when he passed away) and was also married to actress Tina Jaxa with whom he has two kids.
