BREAKING NEWS: SANUSI DRAGS JONATHAN BEFORE ABUJA FED HIGH COURT OVER SUSPENSION

The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has filed a suit before a Federal High Court seating in Abuja challenging his suspension from office. It would be recalled that the President had yesterday justified his suspension of Sanusi by saying 'I have absolute power to suspend him".
In a related matter, controversial former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir Elrufai, who was very prominent at the head of the welcoming party that awaited Sanusi after his return from Niger Republic last week, has admitted that he did receive a majo contract from the CBN under Sanusi via his firm, Elrufai and Partners. Elrufai made the admission on Camera in an interview now circulating on the Internet. His admission came after it was exposed that his anger over Sanusi's suspension may have been as a result of fear of losing this patronage.

In the affidavit filed in support of his suit by his lawyer, Chief Kola Awodein, a senior advocate of Nigeria, Sanusi in praying the court to grant his motion for an interlocutory injunction argued that allow the the suspension to sail through would cause irreparable and serious damage and mischief to him.
Curiously, Sanusi appears to lend credence to a petition by Erastus Akingbola, the CEO and founder of theIntercontinental Bank who was ousted by Sanusi. It would be recalled that Akingbola alleged that Sanusi had consipred with Senator Bukola Saraki to take over his bank after he had warded off an unsolicited offer from Saraki to merge his bank with the Saraki's troubled Societe General Bank.
A paragraph of Sanusi's affidavit states as follows;
“I have been informed, and I verily believe the information given to me by Senator Bukola Saraki to be true and correct that the senate did not give the President any support for my purported suspension and removal from office as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria”.
It remains to be seen if the court would grant his prayers.
