4 arrested for murder of couple in Enugu


Enugu - The police in Enugu State have arrested four suspects for the alleged murder of Ogbonna Idoko and his wife, Victoria, in Okpo.

Police confirmed in a statement that the suspects were from the same community than the deceased.

The statement said the incident occurred in the late hours of February 7 when the deceased were slaughtered with a sharp object in their house.

Operatives of the state’s criminal investigation department have commenced full scale investigations into the matter.

The police also arrested six persons for alleged involvement in the murder of one Chukwuemeka Ugwa in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Ugwa was killed on February 8 after he allegedly stole the sum of N74 000 in his community.

A statement from the police said the body of the deceased had been deposited at Oji River General Hospital mortuary for necessary actions.
