Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have only just announced their split, ending their engagement, but the former couple were spotted back together in Hollywood earlier today.

While some splits end up a toxic mess, the Muse frontman and the blonde beauty looked determined to maintain a happy and healthy relationship as they were seen heading for breakfast at the Brentwood Café on Wednesday morning.

Bride Wars actress Kate, 35, share three-year-old son Bingham, and the pair enjoyed a meal with their little boy just over a week since announcing their split.

British musician Matt smiled happily as he entered the café, while Kate kept a straight face as she carried their son.

Kate looked super-stylish as she wore her hair up in a messy bun, wearing a long black dress and black chunky knit jumper.

Matt held the door open as Kate held Bingham and later loaded him into the back car seat.

The couple announced that they had split in a statement after four years together on December 9.

“Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now,” a representative for the couple said in a statement.

“Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents.”

Matt touched down in Los Angeles earlier this week and said that he was “happy as Larry” despite the break up.
