NDLEA Burns N800 Million Worth Of Drugs In Katsina [PHOTO]



The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Katsina has destroyed almost 7kg of illegal drugs, reportedly worth almost N800 million.

“The total weight of the destroyed drug is 6,795.2kg. This is made up of Cannabis sativa, which is commonly referred to as hemp, with a weight of 5,879kg and psychoactive substances that weighed 916g,” said the body in a statement.

The state head of the agency, Mrs Maryam Gambo said the drugs were seized from 558 convicts from 2003 to 2007 and were destroyed following order granted by the Federal High Court in the state.
