NFF Threatens Double-dealing Agents with Sanctions

Eduok’s Transfer Saga

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick, has warned that anyone found involved in the controversy surrounding the transfer of Dolphin FC player, Emem Eduok, to Tunisian club, Esperance, will face stiff sanctions from the federation.
Eduok who finalized his three-and-a-year transfer to the CAF Champions League champions is been threatened with FIFA sanctions if he fails to assume duties with Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08.

The Scandinavian club is claiming that Eduok’s agent had earlier brokered a four-year deal worth $150,000 with them and as such the Glo Premier League second top scorer with 20 goals had no right to dump them for Esperance with higher transfer fee.
But yesterday, Pinnick who is troubled that the career of one of Nigeria’s emerging stars is about to be truncated with FIFA sanction warned to use any agent involved in double-dealing as an example of the new resolve at the Glass House in Abuja to stamp out corruption of any form.

“Look at the cloud of controversy over the transfer of one of our brightest stars, Emem Eduok. That is a shame and should not happen. We will investigate this matter and come up with recommendations. Whoever is found culpable will have questions to answer.
“I am delighted that we now have Pricewaterhouse, Bain & Co and Financial Derivatives as external auditors, management consultants and financial consultants respectively, as approved by the congress. These three companies will help us streamline things and achieve diligence and discipline in those specific areas in the Federation,” observed Pinnick.
However the unnamed player agent at the heart of this transfer controversy is insisting that the transfer right of Eduok belonged to A&B Academy since his contract with Dolphins, who had paid his bills in the last three years had ran out.
Eduok is presently in the Super Eagles training camp in Abuja preparing for the friendlies against Cote d’Ivoire and Sudan. He has remained mum on the controversy.

According to africanfootball.com, the Sporting Director of Sarpsborg 08, Thomas Berntsen, insisted that the club signed Eduok from A&B Academy on a four-year deal and not from Dolphins.
But the Media Officer of Dolphins, China Acheru, said the club is unaware the player is owned by A&B Academy.
"Emem played for Akwa Starlets, then Akwa United and then Dolphins. Who the heck is A&B Academy?" Acheru tweeted at the weekend.
