'Skin and bones': Giuliana Rancic's scary skinny figure at Golden Globes provokes strong Twitter reaction

Social media commentators were fast to note her protruding collar bone and thin arms, which she displayed in a strapless Maria Lucia Hohan mermaid gown at the Golden Globe Awards.

The 40-year-old E! News correspondent, who was presenting the red carpet coverage for the network, is often criticised over her rail thin frame.

While Giuliana received some positive fashion reviews, attention quickly turned to her appearance.

Twitter user @LBartlome noted: '#giulianarancic needs to eat a fully loaded baked potato on the fly.'

Another, @melissazodi wrote: 'Besides the fact that she looks like skin and bones, #GiulianaRancic got sprayed one to many times with the spray tanner (sic)!'

Twitter users wotnow27 added: 'Can you please find someone who eats to host,' while @loriduffy added: 'She needs a sandwich or 10.'

The Fashion Police moderator refrained from an embellished necklace and left her neck area bare, opting for a diamond bracelet on her right wrist. Her Forevermark diamond accessories cost a whopping $2.2m.

The mother-of-one completed her look with a silver metallic clutch and styled her short blonde locks in loose curls around her shoulders.
