Nigeria reports Bolivia to FIFA over botched friendly

Amaju Pinnick

Angry Nigeria Football Federation officials have dragged Bolivia to FIFA following its unilateral cancellation of next week’s international friendly game with the Super Eagles of Nigeria fixed for the Akwa Ibom international stadium in Uyo.

The Bolivian Football Federation late on Tuesday called off the March 26 international friendly game against the Super Eagles over supposed fear of Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram.

The president of the federation said the NFF, Amaju Pinnick, has already filed a strongly worded letter to FIFA highlighting the alleged breach of contract and revealed that the world football governing body has swung into action informing the Bolivia Football Federation of the consequences of its action.

Mr. Pinnick also revealed the NFF is in a frantic search for a credible replacement for Bolivia.

“We are already looking for another country to replace the Bolivians while FIFA sorts out the breach of the contract we signed with the FBF,” said Mr. Pinnick who assured that the Super Eagles will play on March 26 in Uyo.

Aside the botched Bolivia friendly the Eagles are also billed to face South Africa’s national team during the next set of FIFA free windows for friendly
games and qualifiers.
