KOFAR SORO DEMANDS FOREIGN COACH FOR EAGLES

Super Eagles’ Ogenyi Onazi celebrates with teammates and coaches led by Stephen Keshi after his goal against Venezuela during their international friendly match during Keshi’s first stint with the Eagles.Former Katsina State Director of Sports, Alhaji Muhammed Kofar Soro has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to immediately replace Super Eagles Head Coach Stephen Keshi with a foreign coach, if Nigeria is to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Although the Super Eagles defeated visiting Chad 2-1 to kick-start their 2017 AFCON campaign on a winning note, the NFF queried the coach to explain why he included a non league player, Gabriel Okechukwu in his team.
Even as he is yet to respond to the query, Kofar Soro is convinced that the coach lacks the technical wherewithal to lead the team to Gabon.
Calling the NFF to immediately hire an expatriate coach to take over from Keshi, the sports administrator said the NFF leadership would be in deep trouble, if it allows the coach to bungle the Super Eagles Nations Cup qualification campaign again.
He hinged his demand on the calibre of players that the coach used in prosecuting the match against the ‘Les Sao’ of Chad.
“I want to call on the NFF to sack Coach Stephen Keshi without further delay. I do not think he has the capacity to take Eagles to Gabon.
“His selection of players for the national team is a huge suspect. If the NFF allows him to continue, he will ultimately ruin the team. The Eagles were not convincing against Chad.
“This is the time to bring in a foreign coach to rescue the team from another disaster,” he advised.
Kofar Soro also implored other well-meaning Nigerians to join him in calling for the immediate sack of Keshi.
