The Dutchman has won 16 major trophies as a manager, including seven titles in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. He's won league and cup doubles with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, he's won the Dutch title with unfancied AZ in Holland and he's won the Champions League and UEFA Cup with Ajax. The man is a winner, so why shouldn't he claim silverware at Old Trafford?

Manchester United are top of the Premier League for the first time in 770 days, which is remarkable considering the club has won the top flight 13 times since its rebranding in 1992.

The retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson marked the end of an era for the Red Devils, who grew accustomed to looking down on the rest during the Scotsman's phenomenal reign.

Now United fans are beginning to dream that they are about to witness the first title of the post-Ferguson era.

There is a long way to go, with just seven games played so far this season, but we've compiled five reasons why the Red Devils could win the league this season.
