Nick Jonas 'turned down $2 million to perform Cleveland concert in conjunction with Republican convention'

It was just revealed that Justin Bieber turned down a $5 million request from GOP donors to perform in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention.
And nowTMZ has reported that Nick Jonas was also approached, with an offer of $2 million to perform at the event.
Promoters had wanted the 23-year-old singer to play a free concert in Cleveland on July 24, as a thank you to the city for hosting the RNC at the Quicken Loans Arena.
Nick was offered around $2 million to perform and was told that he would be paid by a 'private donor,' but he turned down the request.
TMZ reported that Nick was not able to do the show anyway, as he had a prior commitment with Roc Nation.
And the former boybander was later seen at the 2016 Roc Nation Summer Classic Charity Basketball Tournament in Brooklyn.
This comes after it was revealed that Justin turned down $5 million to perform at a similar event in Ohio.
The 22-year-old singer was offered the huge amount for a 45-minute performance last week at a venue in Cleveland and although he was told that his performance would not be seen as an endorsement, Justin refused the offer.
MailOnline has contacted a representative for Justin and is awaiting comment.
The Canadian singer and his team were reportedly told by the promoter that LeBron James was planning to take part in another event for the party, also without endorsing them, but LeBron denied having anything to do with them when contacted by Justin's representatives.
And the basketball star encouraged Justin to turn down the offer.
Justin's manager Scooter Braun, a staunch Democrat and supporter of Hillary Clinton, reportedly 'told Justin it was up to him if he wanted to do the show, but he said he couldn't continue to represent the singer if he did, out of principle.'
According to the celebrity gossip publication, a source close to CAA - the agency that represents Justin - said the hitmaker was asked to perform 45 minutes away from Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena - the setting of the RNC.
It was reported that Braun mentioned to Justin that he should discuss erecting Black Lives Matter signs at the show, but the donors rejected the idea, suggesting All Lives Matter signs instead.
It has been claimed that NBA star James' attendance in Cleveland was used to persuade Justin, but when the pop star's team reached out to the sportsman's it was revealed he wasn't going.
In fact, LeBron apparently tried to persuade Justin from doing the gig, which would've provided his highest one-off payment to date.
Meanwhile, Justin's success shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, after he was nominated for the Video Of The Year gong MTV Video Music Award, alongside Kanye West, Drake, Beyonce and Adele.
Justin's Sorry (which the pop star does not actually appear in) is also nominated for Best Pop Video, and he also received a Best Breakthrough Long Form Video nod for PURPOSE: The Movement.
Nick is currently co-headlining his Future Now tour with Demi Lovato, while Justin is in the middle of his ‘Purpose’ world tour.
