Simon Cowell has chosen a godmother for his son Eric, and it probably WON'T surprise you that he's picked longtime friend and ex-girlfriend Sinitta.
The singer revealed the news on Twitter on Mother's Day following a lunch with Cowell and friends.

Simon Cowell and Sinitta, who dated in the 1980s and worked together on many of her records, have stayed friends over the years, with Sinitta frequently appearing on The X Factor.
Although Sinitta did fall out with Simon after recently announcing that she had aborted his baby back when they were dating, and admitted she "was taken aback and did feel a sense of betrayal" when Simon announced he and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman were expecting, the pair seem to have got their friendship back on track since then, even spending Christmas together, according to reports.

Simon Cowell, his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their baby boy Eric are said to be doing well in London.
The two new parents and their KEWT baby boy Eric are currently residing in the UK ahead of Simon Cowell's work commitments with X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.
A source told E! News: "The baby is doing well, he's very strong. He can already hold his head up! He's not fussy and and he's a good sleeper."
Little Eric, who entered the world on Valentine's Day, has now met his grandma, and his half-brother Adam (Silverman's son from a previous relationship). "Adam came to London for his spring break from school. He adores his little brother and loves helping with him," the source said.
The source added, "It's a happy time. They're settling into their new life."
"I was born to be a dad," the 54-year-old music mogul revealed during his first post-baby interview with Extra. "I wouldn't rule out [more children]. Well, I got [dogs] Squiddly and Diddly, and I couldn't imagine Squiddly or just Diddly…I had a brother when I was younger, so I kind of think it's cool to have two or three…two."

It has been reported that Simon Cowell has introduced his mum Julie, to his new son Eric, this week. The emotional meeting came earlier this week, and according to a close source to Simon, it was "the final piece in the puzzle".
The source, who spoke to The Mirror, revealed that Simon's 88-year-old mum was very emotional when she met baby Eric, who is named after her late husband.
Back in 2009, Julie admitted that Simon didn't want kids and she "couldn't talk him round", but now look - Simon Cowell and his partner Lauren Silverman have a family.
Talking about the meeting, the source said: "It was a lovely visit from Simon and Lauren and Julie was thrilled.
"There were some very emotional moments when she got to hold and touch Eric and his name is obviously very poignant for Julie as her husband Eric died in 1999."

ON 24 FEBRUARY 2014, WE WROTE...
While most of the world is pondering over just who exactly Mr Cowell has selected for his X Factor line-up, Simon is just chillaxing on a beach with his new baby boy, Eric, his pooches Squiddly and Diddly, and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman.
The couple enjoyed a beach holiday at Bal Harbor Miami, jetting off for the romantic break after Eric was born on Valentine's Day.
Cowell is reportedly planning to raise his son between London and LA, making Eric one transatlantic tot.
Not to let his beloved pet pooches feel left out, Simon has reportedly enlisted the services of top dog trainer Edward Alava to ensure his dogs don't get jealous of the newborn, according to the New York Post. As well and walking them and paying them attention, Alava will also dress the dogs in leather and cashmere so they feel suitably pampered.
Not that the dogs were left out AT ALL on Simon's Miami beach break - he was loving hanging out with them on hols.
Hasn't Simon ever seen Lady and the Tramp? The dogs will learn to love little baby Eric in the end.

We never expected Simon Cowell to be so gushy, but turns out, the new dad is a total softie. The music mogul tweeted a new photograph of his son, Eric Phillip Cowell and it could well be the cutest pic yet!
He captioned the pic: "Eric's new friends."
Little Eric is snuggled as a bug in a rug - well, a grey blanket. But it's his new cute friends we love; a grey knitted elephant and a beige teddy.

Simon Cowell has shared the first pictures of his baby boy Eric. The 54 year-old music mogul, who welcomed a baby boy into the world with girlfriend Lauren Silverman on Valentine's Day, took to Twitter to share the first baby photos with his followers.
"Mum, Dad and Eric. Now two days old", Simon tweeted, before adding "…. now you can see how very handsome little Eric is".
He then shared a picture of him with his son captioned "I never knew how much love and pride I would feel."
Named Eric after Simon Cowell's father, the newborn arrived at 17:45 on Friday afternoon, and weighed 6lb 7oz.

Congrats are in order for Simon Cowell! The X Factor mogul welcomed a baby boy into the world last night with girlfriend Lauren Silverman.
Simon was quick to announce the birth on Twitter, revealing he had named his son Eric after his father.
Weighing 6lb 7oz, Eric was born in an exclusive Manhattan maternity ward where Beyonce also gave birth.
Lauren's official due date is February 28, but Simon got the call she was showing "early signs" of labour and flew to New York immediately by private jet, missing theBritain's Got Talent Auditions.

Simon Cowell could be set for an AMAZING Valentine's Day - his girlfriend Lauren Silverman has reportedly gone into labour.
A source told E! News that the music mogul's girlfriend went into labour this morning. The 54-year old has reportedly boarded a plan to the US to witness the birth, with Britain's Got Talent reps confirming he'll be missing the show auditions in London today - and any baby reports would be delivered by Simon's UK spokesperson only.
Sinitta was quick to hint at a baby's arrival, tweeting:
"If you think today is special... You are Right! Probably one of the most memorable days of 2014 already! Happy Valentines Day Baby! Xxx"
Simon and Lauren are expecting a baby boy and have already picked out a name, and although it's Simon's first, he's confident he'll be a great Dad:
"I never know what to do," he said. "But [once he's older] I think I'll be a good dad in terms of advice. And then I'll get to do all the things I want to do, like go to Disneyland or Universal Studios, teach him how to drive - I love all that."

Simon Cowell has revealed he's made a rather modest name choice for his future baby son.
Speaking to harem stalwart Terri Seymour on Extra, Cowell said: "My number one choice is Simon because I like the name."
Yes. Yes, he really said that.
And his second favourite? Eric, after Simon's late father.
"His birthday is going to be very close to my dad's birthday," he continued, before adding that his father would be "proud and amazed" were he still here.
He also spoke about the sort of parenting style he would adopt, which just so happens to be similar to the way he was raised.
"Be cool about it, and don't worry about things to much… The way my brother and I were brought up, it was kind of relaxed. There were no self-help books."
Cowell was heavily criticised last week, after pictures emerged of him lighting up a cigarette next to pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman.
The images prompted health charity Action On Smoking to intervene and issue a warning to pregnant women to avoid passive smoking where at all possible.

A source confirmed to US Magazine that the music mogul and his socialite lover Lauren Silverman are expecting a baby boy.
"They've known for a while," an insider revealed to the gossip mag.
Cowell recently recalled the moment he witnessed the tiny version of himself (probably complete with high-waist jeans and a plunging neckline) via a sonogram.
"You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around," the "proud" father-to-be gushed in conversation with The Times.
"I feel very paternal right now. So I am very happy," he said.
However, he assured fans that his new fatherhood wouldn't change him too much.
"I can assure you: I won't go soft," he joked.
Silverman already has a son, seven-year-old Adam, with Cowell's former friend Andrew Silverman.
The estranged spouses settled their divorce in August.

Hang about… Is this what we think it is? Was Lauren Silverman put through the rigorous Louis Walsh dinner test in Mayfair last night? Is she really clutching a copy of a Simon Cowell magazine to her chest like a crazed megafan?
This can only mean one thing: Simon and Lauren are officially an item. And this public outing serves to hammer the point home to those of us still in doubt after a week of PDAs on the French Riviera.
The music mogul proudly paraded his pregnant lover in front of waiting paparazzi, before the pair made their way into the Scalini Italian restaurant in Chelsea to meet Walsh and pals.
The newly divorced mother-to-be showed off her bump in a bright pink dress, which she teamed with a pair of white, high-heeled sandals. Cowell, however, went for a far more daring look, flashing some flesh with a plunging neckline.
The couple were also seen earlier in the day lunching outside at French chain restaurant Café Rouge.
The sightings come just weeks after Lauren agreed on divorce terms with her husband Andrew.
The New York socialite is set to get half of her $4m pre-nuptial agreement and has reportedly told friends that she will marry the pop mogul.

Speaking to the BBC at the world premiere of One Direction's new movie, This Is Us in London, the pop Svengali said: "Things are changing in my life right now, for the better. I'm proud to be a dad... It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it."
Asked about the mother of his child - New York socialite Lauren Silverman - Cowell replied: "[She] is a very special girl."
Cowell's confirmation of the news comes after Silverman and her former husband Andrew finalised their divorce last week.
Meanwhile, new father David Walliams said that he thought Cowell would make a great father.

On Thursday night Simon Cowell made his first public appearance since news broke that he is expecting a child with Lauren Silverman.
At the Television Critics press tour in LA, Cowell was asked about the news, but remained coy saying:
"I haven't read the newspapers, did I miss anything?"
The X Factor judge said he would be keeping his personal matters private at the time, later telling People: "There are a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right, but I really have to be sensitive because there's a lot of people's feelings involved here."
Cowell's former fiancée Mezghan Hussainy was also spotted visiting the producer's home yesterday.
Despite the media furor over the baby-daddy revelations, Simon Cowell was back to focusing on the task at hand: promotion of the returning series of The X Factor USA. He joined fellow judge Kelly Rowland to take part in a panel discussion on the show during the FOX 213 Summer TCA press tour.
The American series of the X Factor will return in September with a female-strong judging panel of Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio joining Cowell.
Simon said that the panel was reflective of the "girls' world" of today's music industry.

Simon Cowell has been named in the divorce papers of his lover Lauren Silverman and her husband Andrew, it was revealed today.
After news broke Wednesday of Lauren's pregnancy with Cowell's child, Andrew's brother Alexander told the New York Post it was a breach of trust on the part of Cowell, who he had been close friends with during his marriage.
"It is an unbelievable story of betrayal. It is a sad story and a tragic story," Andrew said.
In the court documents, which were filed two weeks ago in the Manhattan Supreme Court, Andrew names Simon in the papers, citing adultery as the reason for ending the marriage. This means the X Factor creator could be called to testify in court.
Simon and Lauren maintain their relationship only started after her marriage began to fall apart.

Simon Cowell is set to become a father for the first time, it has been reported.
According to Us Weekly, the talent show TV mogul is allegedly expecting a baby with friend and New York socialite Lauren Silverman.
Silverman is said to be a longtime friend of Cowell's, who is also close to her husband Andrew Silverman, Manhattan property mogul.
Speaking to the US magazine, a source said: "Lauren and Andrew have been unhappy in their marriage for some time, and their divorce has been in the works for a while... As their marriage deteriorated, she and Simon became close."
News of Cowell's impending arrival comes after the 53-year-old's outspoken views on parenthood in 2009, where he vehemently denied his intentions to start a family.
Lauren and Simon were snapped leaving a London theatre together in March.
He said: "God, no. I couldn't have children. If I had them here drawing on the walls I'd go nuts... With kids, you've got a routine you can't escape from. You've got to be up at a certain time. Got to listen. When all you want to do is sit in a corner thinking."
However, since then, the X Factor star had seemed to have mellowed in his views and maybe even warmed to the idea of becoming a father. In an interview last year with AOL Music, Cowell hinted that he hadn't entirely ruled out the idea.
He said: "I do really, really like kids, because I can talk to them and listen to them. The problem has always been how much time you need to devote to bringing up kids. I've always dedicated all my life to work, and at 52, I've probably missed the opportunity."
A representative for Cowell has yet to comment on the news
