Hospitals appeal for blood donation

Hopital 2
Hospitals in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, yesterday, appealled to residents of the city to donate blood to save the lives of the survivors of the Nyanya bomb blast.
Most of the injured victims, who were said to be in ctitical condition, according to hospital workers, need blood transfusion to stay alive.A visit to the Asokoro, Garki, Nyanya, Maitama, and Wuse general hospitals, where most of the bomb blast victims were taken to, revealed that many volunteers had agreed to donate blood  for the victims.
At the hospitals, which have been besieged by relations, friends and colleagues of the victims, medical workers were screening people who had offered to donate blood.

As expected, there was weeping and wailing in virtually all the hospitals visited by Daily Sun, as those who could not find their relations on admission, were advised to check the mortuary. A particular man, who said he was looking for his daughter, cried uncontrollably when he came out of one of the mortuaries and told the people around: “Just come and see how human beings were roasted like fowls, including children, that you cannot even know who is who again. Oh God.”
