Selena Gomez's family reveal she is battling a serious health condition:

Selena Gomez's family have spoken out about how the singer and actress is "in treatment" for Lupus, a chronic inflammatory disease.

In an interview with Radar Online, Selena's grandfather Ricardo Gomez Sr. revealed that she was diagnosed a couple of years ago, but is receiving treatment:

"She's in treatment. She's getting along pretty good. What worries [us] more is that she doesn't know how to say no. She won't take time for herself to relax, to eat well." he said. 

Riccardo also revealed that Selena needed to take time out from the industry - and that her relationship with Justin Bieber was one of the contributing factors that led to her break from music:

"She was working a lot. She was exhausted. She hardly takes some time out.  There was some pressure, first because it's a lot of work...she was worried a lot about Justin."

Earlier this year, Selena Gomez went to rehab - and Ricardo, who hasn't seen his granddaughter since September, thinks she should take time out to focus on getting well: 

"The doctor was telling her she needs to take some time out...It's just too much pressure what she's going through. It's just too much! She doesn't have a single day's break. It's getting to the point with all this pressure, that it's too much."
