With her toned figure, sharp wit and general gorgeousness - Denise Van Outen turned 40 with style this week, but she isn't the only one

Former Big Breakfast presenter and one of the original ladettes cemented Denise Van Outen's status as an admirable female celebrity.

And the fabulous presenter celebrated her bash with 31 female friends this weekend - showing off her toned  figure in a chic stain playsuit.

But she isn't the only celebrity to withstand the march of time.

Today we salute the middle-aged lookers who still keep us smiling in their fifth decade. Cheers ladies!

After her ill-fated marriage to Brad Pitt, 50, the world held its breath hoping for a happy ending – and now, engaged to Justin Theroux, 41, she looks as good as she did starring in Friends during the 90s – and even played a stripper in last year’s film We’re the Millers.

What’s more, her hairstyle is still one of the most talked about in Hollywood.

Then there’s our own Geri Halliwell, 41 years old and showing as much girl power as she did when the Spice Girls ruled the airwaves 20 years ago.

Iron Man actress Gwyneth Paltrow also looks marvellous now she is a 41-year-old mother of two.

But the extranged wife of Coldplay singer Chris Martin doesn’t deny working hard to keep her looks and gives lifestyle and diet tips on her website, Goop.

Last year she revealed she stays in shape with an exercise regime, regular detoxes and only an occasional red wine and ciggie as a treat.

German-born model Heidi Klum celebrated her 40th last summer and still sizzles in swimwear shoots for Sports Illustrated magazine.

Heidi, who is pop star Seal’s ex-wife, takes good care of her looks and kicked off 2014 by going on the controversial Master Cleanse diet.

It involved living on a spicy liquid made with ­lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper.
