Manhunt: SAS soldiers are closing in on the extremist behind the beheading of James Foley
A high-tech manhunt by SAS soldiers could lead to the capture of James Foley’s killer within two days, sources have said.
Troops from the crack regiment are on the ground in Iraq and Syria in an effort to nab extremists in connection to the American Journalist's executioner.
It is believed British intelligence services now know the identity of British born  “Jihadi John” and manhunt efforts in the war-torn region have been stepped up.
Over the last two days a “significant force” of SAS soldiers have been deployed in northern Iraq, joining forces with the Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi forces fighting IS fanatics, the Mail on Sunday reports.
One SAS source said: “It is possible to identify British jihadis on the battlefield by intercepting their radio messages. When they’re captured by the Iraqis or Kurds we’ll take a close interest in their questioning.

“Gathering information such as their blood group and DNA, as well as voice recordings in either Arabic or English, will help us zero in on Jihadi John because it can be compared with existing data.”
Speculation is growing that the man seen in the video of the Brutal beheading of Mr Foley may be 23-year-old Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, a  rapper from West London.
Also under investigation are Abu Hussain Al-Britani, 20, a computer hacker from Birmingham, and Abu Abdullah al-Britani, 23, from Portsmouth.
