Money worries: Robin Williams wanted a safe financial future for his children
Robin Williams set up a three-part trust fund for each of his children before his death.
The 'Insomnia' actor, who was found dead in an apparent suicide on Monday, had set up a document in 2009 which ensured the financial security of his three children Zachary, 31, Zelda, 25 and 22-year-old Cody.
The trust fund only permits the release of the monetary legacy in three stages, and it wasn't dependent on his death.
It is thought that upon turning 21, each child received a third of their settlement, and given half of what was left after turning 25. The remainder is handed over after they turn 30, meaning only Zachary has received his full share.
Although it is unclear how much money is in the trust, the website TMZ reports that there is a "significant" amount of money outside of the it and that the actor's third wife, Susan Schneider, will receive a large chunk.

In 2012, there were estimates that claimed Williams had a net worth of around $130 million.
However, by 2013, it was reported by Fox News that the star was downsizing and selling his $35 million estate after two divorces left him with crippling debts.
The 'Mrs Doubtfire' actor died aged 63 after a long battle with depression. He also suffered with both drug and alcohol problems in the 1970s and 80s and in 2006 admitted that he had relapsed.
Williams checked into rehab in June this year to "fine tune and focus on his continued commitment" to sobriety.
His daughter Zelda posted a tribute to her father via Instagram where she shared a quote from Antoine De Saint-Exupery's book The Little Prince adding: "I love you. I miss you. I'll try to keep looking up."
