Have former BFFs Will.i.am and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini fallen out?

There were rumours the rapper was due to join his old pal Cheryl Fernandez-Versini at the judges' houses stage of The X Factor a few weeks ago.

But when the 39-year-old was quizzed about how the singer - who also used to be managed by him - handled it when he bailed, Will.i.am brushed it off, saying his schedule is so hectic and constantly changing.

The Voice judge told us: "I don't really know my schedule like that. My schedule is wild - I travel so much. He continued: "My schedule is clay and always changing, so nothing is ever solid until I'm there."

Cheryl's spokesman denied the pair had falling out, saying the newlywed wasn't counting on Will.i.am for judge's houses.

Though he did say his replacement, Brit rapper Tinie Tempah, was "awesome".

Last year the singer reportedly ditched him as manager in a bid to relaunch her pop career. Talking ahead of the launch of his bespoke Lexus NX, the musician also spoke about Rita Ora landing a coveted role judging role on The Voice alongside him.

"If it wasn't Rita, I wouldn't have done it. So I'm happy that it's Rita. Because when Kylie left I was like, 'Who else are you going to get?'"
