Missing actress Misty Upham found dead, family confirms

The body of a woman found in a ravine near the White River has been confirmed to be missing actress Misty Upham, a family spokesperson has confirmed.

Upham's father itentified her body to authorities following a search of the area by friends and family.

There is no evidence or information "to believe there is foul play," according to Police Commander Steve Stocker.

The August: Osage County actress suffered from bipolar disorder and at the time of her dissapearance her father expressed concerns that she was not taking her medication.

"The family has stated that, after seeing the body, they still do not feel that Misty Upham committed suicide," said film-maker Tracy Rector, spokesperson for the Upham family.

Police searching for missing Django Unchained actress Misty Upham have found a body they believe to be hers, according to official reports.

Upham has been missing for 10 days and police in the state of Washington discovered the body of a woman in a ravine near the White River on Thursday afternoon.

It has been reported that a purse belonging to the actress was found at the scene, although a medical examiner is yet to positively identify the body or determine the cause of death.

Misty Upham was last seen walking from an apartment south of Seattle, where she had moved to care for her father following a stroke.

Actress Misty Upham, who appeared in August: Osage County, Frozen River andDjango Unchained has been reported missing by her family.

The Seattle Times have reported that the 32-year-old hasn't been seen for the past week - and her father filed a missing persons report on Monday.

Police received a call with a report of a suicidal person at her parents' apartment, but when they responded the person had already left.

Upham "is not considered endangered" according to police, because a disappearance must be considered "unexplained, involuntary or suspicious" to trigger that kind of concern.

"Her family is certainly concerned about her, and we are, too, but it's not suspicious," Police commander Steve Stocker said.

Upham was nominated for a 2014 Screen Actors Guild for her role in August: Osage County, and an Independent Spirit Award for her role as Lila Littlewolf inFrozen River.
