2015 AFCON: Super Eagles Finally Arrive Congo

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have finally arrived Pointe Noire, venue of the crucial 2015 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, against Congo holding on Saturday, 15 November, 2014.



According to Colin Udoh, the former Eagles’ media officer, the coach Stephen Keshi led Eagles, who left Nigeria Thursday evening, arrived Congo early morning on Friday.

It was gathered that the Nigerian players were welcomed by hundreds of supporters on arrival in Pointe Noir.

The Congolese immigration officials also wanted a piece of the Super Eagles when they arrived Pointe Noir, Udoh stated on his Facebook account.

He added that the Nigerian team were tested for Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, when stepping out of aircraft, before and after clearing Custom & Immigration.

The Super Eagles are currently placed third in their group with four points, while the Congolese occupy second spot with seven points behind South Africa.
