Egypt Fail TO Qualify For AFCON 2015



Nigeria is not the only highly ranked African county that failed to make it to Equatorial Guinea for the African Cup of Nation next year. Egypt, the most successful team in AFCON history would also not be at the tournament.

Egypt needed to win by two clear goals in order to make it to the tournament as best losers an looked in a good position to advance when they leas Tunisia 1-0 in the first half. Tunisia however came back to win the game 2-1 and end up as group winners. Tunisia qualified as winners of group G while Senegal came in second in the group.
The position of best losers for went to the Democratic Republic of Congo who were able to beat Sierra Leone 3-1 and secure a ticket to the showcase in Equatorial Guinea.
