Nicki “Bootylicious” Minaj Is The New Face Of Roberto Cavalli

American voluptuous rapper and songwriter, Nicki Minaj has landed herself new gig as the new face of the spring/summer collection for Italian Fashion designer, Roberto Cavalli. Known for exotic prints and for creating the sand-blasted look for jeans, the 74-year old over decades of years has made a name for himself from his gradual rise in his fashion career.

Roberto Cavalli announced this earlier today. The campaign shoot was in Los Angeles with Italian born Francesco Carrozzini as the professional photographer. Just recently she did an October cover for L’Uomo Vogue, followed by an editorial shoot in this month’s Vogue Italia, it apparently appears like the Italians can’t get enough of this current leading lady. Of course, she is the only woman to make it to the Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings 2014 list (cashing in an estimated $14 million this year), she will also endorse the Made in Italy brand its eyewear and accessory line, in addition to its ready-to-wear. Good tidings!

Minaj poses in flowy bohemian dresses, defined by embroideries and animal prints typical of the Cavalli brand. “I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman. In recent years we have become accustomed to women castigated in clothes that hide their body shapes. With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong counter trend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body – who is not afraid to show her curves. Instead, she makes them her strength,” Roberto Cavalli concludes with regard to casting the Trinidad and Tobago-born hip hop mogul.
