Another Group Raises N1.4m For Buhari’s Campaign

Buhari Support Organisation, Kogi State chapter said it had raised N1.4 million to support the campaign of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Mohammadu Buhari.

According to the Kogi State Coordinator of the group, Idris Maiyanga, who spoke to newsmen in Lokoja, at the formal launch of the campaign support fund cards on Wednesday, said the funds were raised voluntarily through sale of airtime cards of some mobile telephone networks.

He said that youths from three senatorial districts of the state constituted the majority of the buyers of the cards.

The national leadership of the Buhari Campaign Organisation had last week announced it received N64 million to add to the initial N54 million realised in December to fund the APC candidate’s campaign for the 2015 presidential election.

Describing Buhari as the best man for the country this time around, Maiyanga said that Buhari would use his background to find solution to problem of insurgency in some parts of the country.

He therefore appealed to candidates contesting for various positions in the coming elections and their supporters to mind their utterances so as to avoid break out of violence.

Maiyanga also appealed to INEC to create a level playing ground for all parties, warning security agencies, especially the Police, not to be partisan.
