Judicial Workers Suspend Strike

Judicial workers under the aegis of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) Sunday night in Abuja called off their three-week strike.

JUSUN on January 5, 2015 began an indefinite strike over the failure of state governments to grant financial autonomy to federal and state judiciary, in obedience to an order to so by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Sources close to a marathon meeting of representatives of the striking workers, at the instance of Chief Registrar, Supreme Court, Ahmed Gambo Abuja, said JUSUN National president, Comrade Adamu Marwa agreed that federal court workers would resume work immediately.

Judicial workers in the states might continue to sit at home until all the issues are resolved, the source added.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that federal court workers may have agreed to return to work in the face of the legal issues that may accompany the upcoming general elections scheduled to begin on February 14.
