Snoop Dogg could be about to Drop It Like It's Hot onto ITV if he secures a spot on the X Factor judging panel.

The US rapper, who currently goes by the moniker Snoop Lion, has reportedly been in talks with Simon Cowell to appear on the hit singing competition as a permanent judge.

The Gin & Juice hitmaker has admitted he has had "more than one discussion" with show boss Simon, 55, about starring alongside him as a judge.

The self-confessed weed-lover, whose real name is Cordozar Broadus, Jr, insists Simon - who appeared on the judging panel on the last UK series with Mel B, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Louis Walsh - hasn't ruled out giving him a space on the desk in the future.

He told The Sun newspaper: "Never rule out me being a judge, I have had more than one discussion with Simon."

Snoop has had problems getting into the UK before as he was banned for three years between 2007-2010.

But it seems he's going to make the most of being allowed back into Blighty by setting up camp on our telly sets.

It remains unconfirmed which of the four judges from the 2014 series are set to return to the show this year and could effectively replaced by the controversial rapper.

Considering he is a bit of a bad boy it begs to be asked whether Simon Cowell would agree to have the iconic rapper on his show.

Snoop has had a number of bad boy moments, including his outrageous Twitter rant at rapper Iggy Azalea, in which he told her: "Say b**ch, you're f**king with the wrong n***a and your n***a better check you before I do you funky b**ch. Yeah, you. F**king c**t."

Host Dermot O'Leary, who has fronted the talent competition since 2007, recently confessed he is considering exiting the series in the near future.

He previously said: "I haven't made up my mind yet.

"I love doing [X Factor] and it's a huge part of my life. But it's eight years now."
