Paris St-Germain defender Serge Aurier banned for insulting referee

Paris St-Germain's Ivorian defender Serge Aurier has been banned for three European matches for "insulting acts" towards the referee of the Champions League match against Chelsea.

Aurier, who did not play in the 2-2 draw on 11 March, made comments on his Facebook page about Bjorn Kuipers over his dismissal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The French side knocked out Chelsea on away goals after extra time.

Aurier, 22, will miss both legs of his team's Champions League quarter-final.

The draw for the last eight of the competition takes place on Friday.
