“We are not interested in who won in the states but 25 percent recorded in the states” it said.

The party explained that it had refrained from making comments but consequent upon the INEC announcement of results, which commenced yesterday in the afternoon, “it is appropriate to talk.”

The party also said it was sure that President Goodluck Jonathan would score more than 25 per cent in the two third of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Addressing journalists on the outcome of the presidential results so far released by INEC, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh, said: “ What matters is not the number of states won but the highest majority votes won and the ability to score the mandatory 25 per cent in two third of the states of the federation.”

He explained that in the votes score from the presidential results released that the PDP was leading in the majority votes score, saying, “to us this is what matters.”
