Keshi renews contract this week, Amokachi dropped

Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi is expected to sign a new contract with the Nigeria Football Federation as the Super Eagles manager this week in Abuja.
Dependable sources told Daily Trust yesterday that the federation chiefs have decided to give him the job following the tendering of his apology to the body.
Keshi, who has had a long drawn crisis with the federation over some clauses in the contract, was said to have carved in to the position of the federation on matters relating to the team.
The source hinted that the Delta State-born soccer tactician will in the new order work with the federation’s Technical Committee and the Director of Technical to build a new team.
Daily Trust also gathered that major changes in the technical crew are in the offing with the re-engagement of former assistant coach Sylvanus Okpala by the federation and the dropping of the present acting coach of the team, Daniel Amokachi from the crew. The source also hinted that the decision to engaged coach Keshi did not get the full support of all the board members as some were of the opinion that he is not the best for now as well as his lost of favour among football fans in the country.
“I just pray things go well with his second coming like it happened at the onset of his handling of the team because I must tell you my fear is that we will all be stoned if we do not qualify for the next Nations Cup,” our source said.
