Mariah Carey has cancelled a Las Vegas show just a week after her residency kicked off.

On Wednesday night fans were greeted by a sign saying the show, where she performs the entire back catalogue of her greatest hits, was off.

According to
TMZ, the singer has bronchitis and doctors have advised her against using her voice.
They say only Wednesday’s show is cancelled for now and she has a few days off before her next show.

Back in January, Mariah confirmed she had signed up to headline the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Sin City and revealed she will be performing all of her 18 number ones during the spectacular show.

Speaking in a pre-recorded interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show she said: "I'm going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars. This is a special event for me.

"And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I’m gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album 'Number 1’s', and this is now the updated version with 18 of them."

Mariah - who has three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with estranged husband Nick Cannon - admitted she is hoping her fans will enjoy hearing some of her older hit singles being played live.

Talk show host Ellen said: "18 number one hits. 18 Number one’s!"

Mariah replied: "And hopefully other people will enjoy this. I’ve never done this before. Some of these songs I’m like, 'Really, I’m gonna do this again, OK?' "

While the blonde stunner didn't reveal how much she is set to earn for the deal, it was recently reported she is going to receive more than the $30 million Britney Spears is receiving for her two-year residency.

It was also reported Mariah will be filling in for Celine Dion - who postponed her shows at Caesars Palace last August to care for her husband René Angélil, who had a cancerous tumour removed from his throat in December 2013 - and she is said to have told the venue she won't return to her residency until the end of 2015 at the earliest.
