Ambode retains CEOs of dissolved boards of agencies Lagos State

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday announced the retention of heads and chief executive officers (CEOs) of all the agencies affected in the recent dissolution of boards of all Lagos State-owned agencies and parastatals.

There are however insinuations in some quarters that some of the CEOs and heads of the affected agencies will still be re- lieved of their positions as the governor plans to shrink them.

Some of the agencies currently en- joying some level of autonomy are to be brought under the direct control of ministries with perma- nent secretaries oversee- ing them.

A statement issued by Tunji Bello, secretary to the state government, on Wednesday, said the heads and CEOs of the agencies and parastatals were not sacked, just as it explained that the Lagos State House of Assembly commission was also not affected in the dissolution.

The government said the clarification became necessary “because of different wrong interpretations given to the dissolution of the boards”.
