Best & Worst Dressed at the 2015 BET Awards: Ciara, Laverne Cox & More!

Stripes on! We're head-over-heels for this edgy multi-hued design by Philipp Plein.
The 2015 BET Awards are in full motion but we're, well, still stuck on that red carpet. Turns out that our favorite style stars tonight all had one thing in common: Simplicity. Like Ciara, who crushed the carpet in a plunging, beaded-all-over Wes Gordon confection featuring a sexy thigh-high slit.

Oh what a night!

Elizabeth Banks
ELIZABETH BANKS

The actress wows in a slim-fitting Balmain number (check the figure-enhancing sheer and black panels) at the Los Angeles premiere of Magic Mike XXL.

JENNA DEWAN-TATUM

The brunette beauty's Reem Acra mini is like, well, sexy armor for the red carpet.

AMBER HEARD
Johnny Depp's main squeeze looks incredible in this ruched, eggplant-hued Monique Lhuillier midi.

EMMY ROSSUM

The star's Blumarine dress is on our shortlist for best monochrome mini of the summer.
REESE WITHERSPOON

Reese's one-sleeve Saint Laurent frock hits all the right notes for us, especially since the red-hot mini is so far from her norm.
LILY JAMES & JESSICA CHASTAIN

The actresses turn heads at the Vogue & Ralph Lauren Wimbledon Party—both wearing Ralph Lauren Collection in contrasting hues.
ROSAMUND PIKE

The Gone Girl actress attends a photocall for the film in Shanghai, China sporting a sprightly floral-print Erdem frock.

EMILIA CLARKE

The actress is the picture of monochrome perfection in this fringed Balenciaga number.
VANESSA HUDGENS

Hudgens is the queen of crop top and skirt combos, making this printed bandeau and midi get-up just another chic addition to her collection.
KENDALL JENNER

The model cuts a trim figure at the 2015 Fragrance Foundation Awards in a belted, engine red Halston Heritage gown.
NINA DOBREV

SANDRA BULLOCK

Also in Monique Lhullier, the Minions star is undeniably charming at the Women in Film 2015 Crystal + Lucy Awards.
JOAN SMALLS

In Givenchy, Joan is flawless.
KIERNAN SHIPKA

She's perfectly dainty yet again in this sweet collared frock.
MICHELLE MONAGHAN

This buttoned Derek Lam strapless gown epitomizes elegance.
SHAY MITCHELL

Step aside boho beauties; Shay's Vatanika white jumpsuit just took bohemian style to the next level.
BELLA THORNE

We dig this punchy Mugler mini.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER

SJP never met a daring dress she didn't just love, and this whimsical water color-esque Elie Saab is no exception.
NAOMIE HARRIS

Gabrielle Union's glimmering Halston Heritage gown was head turn-worthy without being over the top, which could also be said for tonight's co-host Tracee Ellis Ross. She wowed in a form-fitting white midi (all-white was a major trend tonight, FYI—and Tracee wore it best).

Janelle Monáe, meanwhile, replicated her epic 2015 Met Gala cape moment in a dramatic black-and-purple Safiyaa London ensemble replete with floor-sweeping cape and gold collar necklace. Finally, we couldn't take our eyes off of Laverne Cox, who stunned in a navy Dmitry Sholokhov tuxedo jumpsuit.

Now for the less than chic: We were torn on Kelly Rowland's black swan-evoking frock, but ultimately thought the floor-length sleeves overwhelmed her figure. And while we liked the retro effect of Andra Day's polka-dot midi, the ruched black belt that came along with the look, well, eclipsed it.

OK, hear us out: The bright, eye-catching print of Naturi Naughton's dress wasn't quite the problem—it was the gown's stiff mermaid silhouette that seemed off.

V. Lynn's all-black look fell somewhat flat (plus competed too heavily with blinding white pumps). And Angela Simmons' mini, while super-sexy, read a little bland on the red carpet.
