Umu Igbo Unite’s theme for this year’s 11th annual convention, NEW GENERATION, NEW VIEWS, BUILDING BRIDGES TOGETHER will focus on the new ideas, views and bridges we need to build in order to move the country of Nigeria forward.
Location
This year’s 4-day convention, being held at the Newark Liberty International Marriott in Newark, New Jersey from August 6th through the 9th in 2015, is aimed at convening influential members and emerging leaders of the Igbo-Nigerian community together around the world. Those convened hail from different professional industries including all areas of healthcare, engineering, business, education and law - culminating in a culture filled weekend of events.

“We are very excited about bringing our annual convention to the Newark, New Jersey community this year. Due to the space, availability and needs of our convention, along with our ongoing positive relationship and experience with Marriott International, Newark, New Jersey seemed like the right fit at the right time,” said Emeka Okpukpara, President and Chairman of the Board for UMU IBGO UNITE.

“Special guests this year include world famous comedians Namo Skee, Yvonne Orji, Chief Obi, Foxy P. Our comedy show was sold out and highly attended.
