DE BRUYNE AWAITS BLUES ENCOUNTER £55M MAN CITY STAR WILL TAKE SPECIAL PLEASURE IN SCORING AGAINST CHELSEA

Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne’s father has come out to reveal that his son will be hoping to score against Chelsea to make Jose Mourinho regret sending him off to Wolfsburg last summer, according to reports from the Daily Star.

De Bruyne became the second most expensive player in British transfer history after he joined City for a massive £55million following an incredible season in the Bundesliga, which saw him wrap up the Player of the Year accolade.

But only a year ago, the Belgium international was seen as surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, only starting three games in two years under Mourinho.

The former Real Madrid boss questioned the 24-year-old’s ‘winning mentality’ during that period, and now De Bruyne’s dad Herwig has come out to claim that the attacking midfielder will be taking special pleasure if he manages to score against the Premier League champions.

"Kevin will have no more to prove against Chelsea than he will against Swansea,” he said.

“But if he scores against Chelsea, he will say in his heart,‘Yes, now I have you’.”

Last season, De Bruyne made 51 appearances in all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing an incredible 28 assists.
