Oliseh commends Swaziland

Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has saluted the Sihlangu Semnikati of Swaziland despite handing the South Africans a 2-0 defeat on Tuesday.

The former African champions defeated their Swaziland counterparts 2-0 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, but had to struggle to secure the win, as the Swazis defended in numbers.

Second half goals from Moses Simon and Efe Ambrose ensured the Super Eagles secured passage to the group stages of the qualifiers but Oliseh was still full of praise for the Swazis for their resilience."I have to salute and congratulate the Swazis," Oliseh said. "They came here with a game plan and the tactic was to sit deep and frustrate us, which they almost did.

"They were compact in the way they defended and attacked occasionally and even though they didn't win, I have to salute them and I think their coach has done a good job," Oliseh said further.

The group stages of the qualifiers will begin in 2016, when the final race to Russia 2018 officially begins.
