Emir of Keffi dies in sleep


The Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Mohammdu Chindo Yamusa II, is dead.

The Emir was said to have passed away in the early hours of Friday in his palace in Keffi, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state. He reportedly went to bed last night and couldn’t wake up.

His brother, Alhaji Abubakar Gada Mohammed, Dan Galadiman Keffi, in a statement, described he demise of his brother as shocking.
The monarch, according to the statement, passed on at about 3a.m on Friday after a brief illness.

Mohammed said the royal father who died at over 70 years assumed the prestigious throne in 1978, stating that final funeral rites and burial would take place after Juma’at prayer in Keffi, according to Islamic teachings.
