Warri Wolves Lose As Enyimba, Nassarawa United Win In CAF Competition.

 
Enyimba have defeated Vital’O 5-1 in their Caf Champions League first round, first leg tie on Sunday evening.

Two gaols from Mfon Udoh and Stephen Chukwude plus Ugochukwu Leonard’s strike helped the NPFL champions defeat Burundian Vital’O who got their consolatory strike through Hussein Shaban.

Chukwude spearheaded the mauling in the 21st minute when he converted in from Christian Pyagbara’s pass. Seven minutes later, Udoh doubled his side’s lead with a sole effort that beat goalkeeper Mac Arthur Arakaza in goal. Former Ifeanyi Ubah forward Chukwude completed his brace just minute before the half time break to send the Aba fans into wild jubilation.

Host Enyimbacontinued to torment the Burundians and it paid off in the 56th minute when Udoh turned in Chukwude’s assist. A mistake from Emmanuel Anyanwu ensured Vital’O got a goal courtesy Shaban with Leonard netting the fifth for Paul Aigbogun’s men.

Warri Wolves on the other hand lost1-0 at home to El-Merreikh who got their goal in the 18th minute of the fierce encounter.

The Sudanese giants were reduced to 10-men in the 55th minute Toufik Guerabis was given the marching order for a second bookable offence.

In the Caf Confederation Cup, Nasarawa United laboured out to a 1-0 victory against Club Sportif Constantinois at the Abuja National Stadium.

Philip Azango scored as a goalmouth scramble occurred following a corner kick with only five minutes left on the clock. A draw for the Solid Miners in Algeria will qualify them for the next round of the competition. -
