Achike UdenwaEFCC arrests ex-Governor for allegedly sharing N350m GEJ money

The ex-Governor of Imo state, Achike Udenwa has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly receiving N350m from the former minister of state for finance, Nenadi Usman.

The EFCC arrested and quizzed Usman, who also was the campaign director of the Goodluck Jonathan presidential campaign, for allegedly receiving N2.5b from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Reports also said the campaign director was the one who disbursed all the funds used during GEJ's campaign.

Punch reports that a source with the anti-graft agency said “Udenwa was invited on Tuesday and was quizzed for several hours. He was, however, released around 9pm and will cooperate fully with us.”

Reports say Nenadi Usman has returned N23m to the coffers of the Federal Government after her arrest.

Achike Udenwa was the Governor of Imo state from May 1999 to May 2007 (8 years).
