Oupa Manyisa is 'alive and well'

Orlando Pirates’ captain Oupa Manyisa is alive and well, the club insists, after reports surfaced that the midfielder has died in a car crash.

The rumours that Oupa Manyisa passed away in a car accident this afternoon are malicious & COMPLETELY false! Our skipper is alive & well.

We have been in contact with Oupa & he is just as amazed at his newly-found status as is everyone at the Club.

While the Premier Soccer League end of the season awards ceremony was taking place in Kempton Park on Monday evening, east of Johannesburg, it appears rumours of Manyisa's purported death emerged but the Buccaneers were swift to allay fears of the fans and the football fraternity in general with a series of tweets slamming the rumours.

Oupa is with family & friends watching the PSL Awards. Those responsible for spreading this rumour are out of order.
