Enyimba sulk over loss to Sundowns

Enyimba of Aba players have their heads bowed following the 2-1 defeat they suffered in the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, in the group B parings of the CAF Champions League. Having lost their opening game to Zamalek of Egypt in Port Harcourt, Enyimba were hoping to make amends in Pretoria Wednesday night, but a poor defensive display have made them whipping boys of the group, which has only three teams following the disqualification of Setif of Algeria. According to midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Enyimba players are disappointed with the loss, and they can only hope for the best in the remaining games. “We the players are more disappointed than the fans with the 1-2 defeat at Mamelodi Sundowns. “The result was not what we hoped for. Heading into the encounter we were positive to claim the three points at stake. “However, we do not hope to continue crying over a spilt milk, rather to look forward positively to the remaining matches. “It looks tough but not impossible to defeat Zamalek right there in Egypt now that the tie is essentially a must-win clash.” Enyimba will be away to Zamalek on August 14 and then host Sundowns August 23 in Port Harcourt and only a win in the two games will aid their advancement.
