NFF yet to contact me on Eagles role — Yusuf

Super Eagles caretaker manager Salisu Yusuf says he hasn’t been approached by the Nigeria Football Federation on purported plans to make him work alongside Paul Le Guen who is expected to be officially named as the next senior national team manager anytime from now.
Yusuf was reacting to widespread reports that the Glass House are hoping to keep him in the Eagles set up with a view to helping Le Guen navigate Nigeria through a tough 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying group that features Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia.



In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday, the former Enyimba coach added that he’ll listen to the Amaju Pinnick led NFF’s proposals before taking a final decision.
“As I speak to you, I haven’t heard anything from the Nigeria Football Federation up till this moment, I’m just reading those reports from the media, as things stand I’ll wait for them to make proposals before I make a final decision on the issue.” Yusuf said.
Already a number of top personalities have reached out to the former Kano Pillars gaffer to accept the Le Guen role including ex-internationals like Dahiru Sadi who told Daily Trust that working with the French manager will help Yusuf on the long run when it comes to landing the top job.
54-year-old Yusuf has been assistant coach to Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh and Samson Siasia, and before now made it very clear he will no longer be assistant to any coach any longer promising to qualify Nigeria to the next Mundial if given the chance.
